I have another theory, and that is
that England is smaller than the US, and that the people who have the money
there know better where it is and how to hold onto it, and Maharishi wants it,
so by breaking up their cadre of leadership he throws them into chaos and makes
it easier to move whatever holdings out.

The logic of unfolding
enlightenment slowly is divine, not mine. Of
course it sounds absurd that
it might be necessary to slow down the
growth of a spiritual regeneration
movement, absurd, that is, until
you recall the fate of Jesus and his
spiritual regeneration movement.
It's just an unfortunate fact that you
cannot turn on the light of
enlightenment too quickly when you are dealing
with a world that is
as profoundly dark as this maelstrom of murder and
misery is.
Regarding your specific claim that I think that "Since
England's TMO
and meditating community is so powerful and devoted, they
should be
thwarted. They are too positive a force," well, that's just
horse
manure -- it's not that England is too filled with light, but that
England is a dark little outpost of soccer hooligans and others with
bad teeth who think that being Bush's bitch is a good idea, who only
grow more fierce and negative with any exposure to light, with an
incompetent TMO that has failed to transform the national
consciousness into something edifying by convincing the local yokels
to start TM, that's why MMY is fed up with this dismal little island
and intends to show them what Vedic culture can do for a
country.
The Kaplans got a tax write-off for their donations, so don't
shed
too many tears for these guys who would be living off their trust
funds from rich daddy unless they had unfolded their creativity
through TM and an MIU education. Unfortunately, their intelligence
and
character are too limited to take the ride all the way to the
end -- not
an uncommon thing among the rich "It's easier for a camel
to go through
the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the
kingdom of heaven" --
and they'll find out in a couple decades how
little money means in the
context of human evolution.
In his commentary on the Gita, MMY notes
how nature operates, giving
great flexibility to the growth of evil, but
when the breaking point
is reached, then "quite suddenly" nature will no
longer sustain it:
" 'Quite suddenly' gives _expression_ to the way in
which nature
functions. Nature ensures great flexibility for the growth of
good or
evil in the atmosphere. But when an influence grows beyond
elastic
limits, nature will no longer sustain it; suddenly the breaking
point
is reached." (Gita Ch.1, v.13)
MMY, as an enlightened man (I
think so, you can think differently),
is the voice of nature and that voice
is expressing now that the
breaking point has been reached (the fact that
the Brits would
support Bush's lap dog now, after Bush's war policies have
been so
completely discredited, is just too much), so expect a number
of
natural disasters as a reaction to human wrongdoing, not just a
lot
of verbiage from MMY. MMY has made it clear that the enlightened
are
voices of nature:
"Cosmic life gains _expression_ in his activity.
The thought of cosmic
life is materialized in his process of thinking. His
eyes behold the
purpose of creation. His ears hear the music of cosmic
life. His
hands hold on to cosmic intentions. His feet set the cosmic life
in
motion. He walks on earth, yet walks in the destiny of heaven.
Angels
enjoy his being on earth. This is the glory of unity born of
love."
(Love and God, p.22)
