Jim, You wrote: What I see you expressing though is fear mongering; a call to action spurred on by a potential alternative of "unspeakable, unimaginable horrors for us all." and "watch the world burn". Can you provide further evidence for your terrible vision? (I don't mind where the evidence comes from either.) I am curious about the substance behind your words. BTW I agree Maharishi's latest initiative will probably not succeed, they never have, have they? On the other hand, the plans and folly of a group associated with him as others have said does not necessarily reflect his true agenda. Thanks, Jim REPLY Well, let's see. To begin with, when TM first became available, it was marketed as a stress relieving technique, and pretty effective at that, since it was effortless. That was during the Cold War. At that time nuclear annihilation was a real threat. Basically, for me, while having deep love and profound respect for Maharishi, it was AWAYS the TM technique and its potential for mental and physical health that it offered, that interested me. Now though, Maharishi's "perfect" vision for the world is nothing short of absolute perfection. To achieve that end, some pretty (to my mind) bizarre management decisions have been made. What do YOU make of that kind of management style??? Has it succeeded? Can you see that vision of perfection when you look around at what's going on in our world? Do you feel satisfied? REALLY???? If not, and you are a teacher, and you have the ability to become an independent TM instructor, then you can do some powerful good in the world. Anyone with COMPASSION would want to make this technique available to everyone in need of it. Anyone who makes the decision to become an independent teacher deserves our full support and encouragement. Why should it concern you what HIS agenda is? It is your own agenda, yours and mine, that matters. You may find, ultimately, that HIS agenda and yours, bear absolutely NO correlation, or only a vague resemblance at best.
