It is obviously less of a challenge to be devoted to someone who is no longer in the body, and who no longer stretch ones vision of reality or challenges your beliefsystem, or test your devotion big time. Which is what MMY is doing to all the initiators right now. This is axactly what MMY said a few years ago; some will start to use other pictures during Puja and show strong "devotion" to Guru Dev.
