His theater show exposed more people to live magic entertainment which had been dying out as kid's entertainment. His TV shows were very good at restoring credibility to TV magic. He basically revived a dying art form and paved he way for guys like Copperfield. He was a very creative guy and became a laughing stock i his own industry because of all the MMY nonsense. If you don't understand the value to a performer of playing in Vegas then I'm guessing you aren't a performer. It is a high visibility, high pay venue that allow performers to do their show for more people than anywhere else on earth.
