There used to be a small book called something like The Scripture of the Phoenix.  It was fascinating. I wish I could find it again, but I think it went out of print. It also said much about the Pole Star.  But I think we forget that in the whole other half of the world there is no Pole Star. They've never seen it. So again, just more exclusivism.

IIRC what this stems from are texts which talk of the polestar, their
traditions assert that this is a physical place and the directions
basically describe Norway area location-wise. In TIbetan Buddhism there
are places in that area which are considered Hidden Lands, as are parts
of Montana and other places in the US.
