It's 65 violent crimes for students out of 100,000. A lot of students live off campus, so the one in a million is a tad misleading: http://www.uga.edu/safeandsecure/intro.html For example, 65 of every 100,000 college students are victims of murder, rape, robbery or aggravated assault each year. Burglary or vehicle theft occurs to 257 of every 100,000 students. There are nine sexual assaults, 21 robberies and 35 aggravated assaults per 100,000 students nationwide each year. The on-campus murder rate is one murder per one million students. > So make sure you're packing when you're on campus: > http://www.cnn.com/US/9707/06/briefs/armed.campus/ > > > > > > On Jun 4, 2005, at 5:24 PM, sparaig wrote: > > > > > I was just thinking the same about people who believe that a > place is > > > dangerous because there was a murder committed there --out of 30 > > > years in the same locale, one murder on campus...
