But Peter, you already have infinite light; you've often posted here with Advaitic clarity, and I know that you know that it is always and only a matter of removing that which obscures the light that you would pray for -- egoic identification is the "glass darkly" peered through.
I know that you know that trying to find more light is an insult to God Who has given EVERYTHING to ALL souls -- souls with closed fists complaining that no divine gifts are being put onto their palms. And, since it would be an ego trying to find the light, you know that if anything was to be "gained," it would be merely a more subtle form of attachment to some less-than-infinite, local shaping of light. Removing identifications allows more light to be realized-as-omnipresent, but Advaita makes it clear that identifications must be understood to be clouds hiding the sun, and that it is not a case of the sun needing to have "another log tossed onto its fireplace." Praying for more light with sunglasses on seems tawdry. My own glasses seem as outlandish as any of the two-foot wide, rhinestoned, gaudy shades Elton John ever wore, but, that said, try to get me to doff mine. I look cool I tell ya!
