There is the phenomenon of global dimming, which is a reduction of global temperatures due to air pollution. Global warming would be a lot worse without it. After 9/11 when the planes were grounded, temps in the US rose more than could otherwise be accounted for. Theoretically, they’re intentionally spraying something in the atmosphere to serve as a sun screen.
