Hi Simon, Thanks for chatting about your experiences.
Am I right in thinking that you feel you benefit from your TM even though it is difficult? I hope so! At least I hope you get the full benefits outside of your meditation. For what it's worth, my TM is a thousand times better when I: Take regular, medium rate exercise: swimming, weight lifting, running etc. Don't eat heavy meals with lots of meat. Don't drink alcohol. Have regular deep massages (doesn't have to be expensive TM stuff!). Get lots of sleep. Sit comfortably - on a chair if required. Have some really good, natural sandelwood incense. Sai Baba Nag Champa is the best. Do plenty of long, slow asanas - this REALLY helps. There are THREE full sets of "TM" asanas; ask for the sheets from your TM centre. Do full, slow and deep pranayama. No doubt you've heard all this many times before - but it can help to be reminded. It all adds up. Hope it all helps. --- In [email protected], "Simon Groves" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hello to all, > I've been reading a few of the messages on fairfield life, since I > joined recently, and am amazed at how much there is out there about > us not being given the bigger picture, on learning TM, of how we are > going into the life of a yogi without having been told this etc..., > and even stuff about meditation not being as easy as it sounds for > everyone. > > I just want to say on this, since I learned TM in 2001 my meditation > experience has been generally very surface due to > obstruction/head/neck/shoulders with some only very occasional > pleasant relaxing experience.
