Actually his private living quarters were financed by private donations, not TMO funds. And I don't know exactly how much a "golden toilet" costs, but it's probably only a relatively small percentage of the typical wealthy CEO's retirement benefits. MMY certainly could have retired in luxury two decades ago if he had chosen to. Instead, he was working for the TMO right up until his death at, what, 93 or thereabouts.
