Amma is regarded as an Avatar by many though not by me, for others She
is Godhead herself. Others again regard Her as a cherished Teacher. In
this situation Rich Archer mix into the situation, he starts to "check"
the meditations of Amma's students using techniques he learned from
Maharishi. Without the conscent of his Teacher, totally driven by his
own ego or desire for recognition of some sort.

First of all, Nabby, you're fixating on this checking thing. I did this on
two occasions, both times with people who were frustrated by their
meditation experience; who were straining and weren't getting "deep." Both
had nice results. One later learned TM. I doubt that MMY or Amma would have
objected.

2nd, you didn't address my question about getting animals to meditate by
checking them a lot. If you're going to check them, they first have to have
a mantra, so I guess you'd have to initiate them. I never got instructions
from MMY on how to initiate animals. Please explain to us how you would do
it, Nabby, without giving out any private instructions, of course. By
animals, do you just mean cats and dogs, or would you include horses, goats,
iguanas, etc? In other words, which species are eligible for initiation and
checking? Only mammals? Reptiles? Amphibians? Fish? Where do you draw the
line?

Finally, please compare my taking a few minutes to give a couple of friends
a taste of effortless meditation, basically by asking them to open and close
their eyes a few times and then think the mantra as effortlessly as any
other thought, with your initiating and checking of animals, in light of the
principle of the "Purity of the Teaching."
