The IRS investigates tax fraud, not business fraud, and probably only
a very few people in the tmo know real details about its taxes.

I haven't followed this thread closely but I think the typical issue
for most ffers is that the tmo is constantly obssessed with raising
money for never ending "world peace" projects but never seems to come
thru on these projects or perhaps even have its heart in coming thru,
ie, raising significant funds, doing all the business and legal
maneuverings for buying dozens of properties around the world, then 15
yrs later doing all the business and legal maeuverings again to sell
these properties with gains, with no significant "peace" activities
ever being done at these properties. None of this is an issue for the
IRS - non-profits can engage in all sorts of activities and make huge
gains on these activities, as long as they follow guidelines for
distributing these gains. Many people think non-profit means "can't
make money", but that's not true.

The real TAX issues these days for the tmo seems to be property taxes.
For example, the spiritual capital losing its case for exemption from
property taxes, which required the Kaplans to put many millions into
that account to pay back taxes, many millions then being wired out of
the account to india, requiring the Kaplans to come up with more
money, prompting the feud between Ks and MMY.
