I like apperception better because perception implies a perceiver and a perceived. In "my" experience in this realm of pure consciousness, there is no perceiver. Perception, of course, occurs, but there is no individual perceiving. You can't say, "I am perceiving pure consciousness." Consciousness is simply awake to itself.
