P.S.: The rumor appears to have been begun by a guy who runs a Web site that supports Holocaust revisionism. He uses multiple identities, at least one of whom has been shown to be a forger. He appears to enjoy starting nutty conspiracy rumors. In this case he claimed to be in possession of a Pentagon PDF detailing all 9,000 troops killed. At any rate, someone who writes for Ariana Huffington's group blog (www.huffingtonpost.com) saw the rumor on the site and posted about it- -apparently without checking the site's credentials--whence it rapidly spread throughout the Internet.
