I felt the same way, regardless of my earlier rant.  The
rant was really based on seeing 20 similar disagreements
on 10 other sites this weekend, and watching *each* of
them quickly shift from discussing things in the present
to arguing about things that were from the past.

Yes, it is, and I agree with you that all parties here
