Thats a reasonable position, and I respect your practicioners view.
However, it is your conjecture. And, at face (surface) value, appears
to stand in the face of my understanding that there are 20-50 studies
showing that SRRIs have an effect for a broad range of subjects --
severe and mild -- statistically significant above and beyond that of
a placebo -- to every one study that shows no significant difference. 

But as touched on in another post, it doesn't amount to a hill of
beans what you, I, Unc, Jeff, Bob, or any backseat driver here thinks.
What is solely relevant is what a subject and their doctor
collectively conclude regarding the efficacy of the drug.
