I can't quickly find a list of requirements, but the term "organic farmland" is pretty standard, not just something the TMO dreamed up (if that's what you were suggesting). For example: http://www.ers.usda.gov/Data/Organic/ The question in my mind would be whether the land in question is USDA *certified* organic farmland. I would guess it means farmland on which synthetic fertilizers and pesticides have not been used for a certain amount of time, among other practices that are either required or prohibited.
