Not quite sure what a DADT , DOM or LMNOP is other than initials. My point is,
the  far left wants near total control while the  far right wants near total
anarchy. The founding fathers set up a federal government to be short of
anarchy
and allow states to decide how far left they wanted to go from there. In my
opinion, both Republicans and Democrats are both to the left of the ideals the
founding fathers set up for the federal government. Also, in my opinion, the
abortion issue, should be left to each state to decide, although there is the
case that  the Declaration of Independence declares that our Creator has
endowed  all men the right of* life*, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The
federal government has the responsibility to defend the borders, which it is
currently neglecting when it comes to *illegal* immigration. Federal law
already
requires immigrants to carry their *papers*(green card). So, if a legal
immigrant is required to carry a green card, why shouldn't an *illegal*
immigrant be required to do so?

Except the controls that would enforce the right's
political, social, and economic agendas, of course.
Like DADT, or DOM, or banning abortion, or requiring
immigrants to carry their papers at all times, or
giving the FBI the right to demand an ISP's records.

I could go on...
