Not sure why zoning would prevent it. It would not be condoizing the
house. 

If need be, a corporation or limited partnership could buy it. The
group could form such.

Zoning against 6 ppl living in a 6 bedroom house? i wouldn't think so.
Lots of houses are rented to college students and they pile in any
number.
