Just a comment, that consciousness can be interpreted to be
"a subset, a property of material existence" does not mean
that it has in fact been scientifically established as being 
a function of a material structure(i.e. the brain).

Also in QM there is a group of physicists( e.g N.Bohr) who have argued
that the manifestation of physical reality(the collapse of the probability wave 
function) depends on the presence of a conscious observer.
I do agree with your points re the invalidity of trying to connect
the subjective experiences of meditation with the laws pf physics.
