Adyashanti has a different take on those who muddle or quit their sadhana which I appreciated because it was more a choice by them to continue exercising their will and ego, which is deliberately challenged and brought to crisis by spiritual practice, vs continuing with the practice. Takes a lot of the rancor out of the equation.
I also wouldn't personally toss Rick in with the disenchantment crowd.
