Just as a question, hasn't it ever occurred to you
that this fascination with the TMO "thriving" and
surviving for centuries is just an extension of
Maharishi's ego?

I mean, we're talking the guy who was hung up for
a while on physical immortality. We're talking
the guy who is afraid to stray too far from the
ever-present doctors who brought him back last
time he almost croaked. We're talking the guy
who wants to build the world's tallest phallus
to keep his memory alive.

In other words, is the desire to perpetuate the
TM movement really selfless, or is it merely just
another way to perpetuate the self? The closer
Maharishi gets to death, the more money he seems
to need to perpetuate the extension of his self
that is the TM movement. A few years ago, people
were shocked when he was begging for half a
billion dollars. These days, he needs 600
billion just for one project.

In my experience, those who have realized
eternity in their daily lives don't spend a lot
of time thinking about what the world is going to
do without them when they merge back into that
eternity. On the other hand, Maharishi seems
to spend almost *all* his time these days think-
ing about this, and raising money so that the
memory of his self is perpetuated and never
forgotten.

As Llundrub pointed out yesterday, there is no
acceptance of the perfection of the world as
it is, only a compulsion to remake the world
into the image of it his self dreams about.
And the closer he gets to dying, the more he
wants to make what a truly enlightened being
would have realized is already perfect "more
perfect," and the more money he needs to remake
this already-perfect world in his own image.
Strange, if you ask me...
