"What the hell does purity mean anyway?"

As in Satva (clarity, equanimity) seems an inner quality and Tamas, Rajas outer
manifestations of it somehow. I still remain tamasic without the emotions of
anger, guilt, shame, self-centeredness which are predominant weaknesses of
Tamas
as opposed to say pride, greed, power/domination, jealousy, selfishness which
could be the weaknesses of Rajas.

Yep - Rajas for activity and Tamas for inertia.

For me Sattva is something that pervades both - so you can be satva-tmas or
satva-rajas. I don't really buy the dictionary, scriptural references. What the
hell does purity mean anyway?

For people with predominant tamas, tantra - indulge with awareness - no goal to
be reached.

For one with Rajas - yoga, path of perfection, goals to be reached -
suppression
with awareness.

I was pretty tamasic, and like I said I could indulge in my 3 S's of
spirituality any time of the day. My struggle most of my life was with my
energy, no issues with restless mind, no need for any goals, need to quieten my
mind. If I didn't have existence doing everything for me I would have ended up
as the most laziest loser on this planet.

Huh? I have to look everything up. Today I learned some latin from
Judy..."casus belli"....justification for war. Now....

Darkness, inertia and resistance to action---praying to fulfill base desires?
I
need context :)

* In the Samkhya school of philosophy, tamas (Sanskrit / तमस् tamas "darkness")
is one of the three gunas (or qualities), the other two being rajas (passion
and
activity) and sattva or purity). Tamas is the template for inertia or
resistance
to action. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamasic

* Tamasic desire resulting in worship typically has the worshiper praying to
fulfill base desires and dispel fear.
