My parents were married for 52 years.  At year 49, my mom had a 
massive stroke and until her death 2 1/2 years later, my dad looked 
after her night and day.

With few exceptions, it was the only time when I saw harmony in 
their marriage.  Instead of fighting like cats and dogs there was 
actually love between them and one actually looked forward to being 
in the same room as them.

So there was a wonderful silver lining to the horror of that stroke.

52 years of marriage, 2 years of bliss.
