I think her attitude had something to do with the first winter they had there - she said the heat wasn't working about half the time and some folks got sick as a result.

Santa Barbara is a lovely place, but there was no room for growth there. MIU was in a rented facility. People wouldn’t have been able to afford to move there and build a community like we have here.
