(1) The small self *is* Judy. Judy's the illusion. (2) Being in ignorance is *not* what Judy is complaining about, never has been. (3) All three of you--Rory, Barry, and Jim--have completely missed the point I was making to Rory. I really didn't think I was being *that* subtle. Take another look at what I wrote a little earlier in the thread, commenting on Rory's attempt to play therapist: "If I work *really really hard* on this, someday in the future I may come to be able to appreciate the Now." Jim, try thinking about this one above your head, see if you can pick up on one of those effortless answers. If you're still stumped, revisit the original context: --- In [email protected], "Rory Goff" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > --- In [email protected], "authfriend" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: > <snip> > > [to Barry:] > > So I'm sitting there not appreciating the Now, > > and I say to myself, "I'd rather be appreciating > > the Now." > > > > My point is that you've gotten yourself into > > yet another infinite regress when you "prescribe" > > appreciating the Now. > > Some Suggestions on How to Appreciate the Now: > > 1) Pay attention to whatever is in front of us. If I work *really really hard* on this, someday in the future I may come to be able to appreciate the Now. ------------------------ Yahoo!
