Mahesh's intentions were to make money for himself. Don't fool
yourself!

TM is based on the notion that the mind goes in the direction of more
and more. That's a definition of greed. Mahesh was using secrets
(which he knew you would want to find out) to sell you [not you
personally, 'you' in general] what you wanted: more.

It certainly wasn't difficult for him to notice that there were some
folks who would pay any price to get something for nothing.

Mahesh is the great (Maha) secret-walla. When you get right down to
it, the only secret he had was "as effortlessly as you think/are
thinking/experiencing any thought" which he peddled into a multi-
million (probably billion) dollar empire/cult with himself as it's
supreme decision-maker.

Mahesh is about money.

Anything you [you personally or 'you' generally] have gotten from
Mahesh has been your own doing. Mahesh's "good intentions" were self-
serving, narcissistic and anything but spiritual. Too bad he didn't
listen if and when Guru Dev might have told him to go sit in a cave.
