As the stress of everyday living wears one down slowly, without any relief, we sometimes find that the messages of some informants get shorter and shorter. Then, as time goes by the informant messages almost always begin with RE: and end on one single line. Then, after a long time the informants just disappear and never come back.

This usually happens to informants for a number of reasons:

 * They feel better when they have a /real live person/ to talk to
   instead of an impostor on a chat room using an alias posting lies
   and misinformation.
 * They get fired from their day job for using company equipment and
   company time and for posting messages to FFL that reveal a prurient
   interest.
 * They lose and can't afford a broadband internet connection and so
   they only post when they are at a public library, /which is about
   once every five years./
 * They /get relief from the stress/, find a real job, get married and
   have kids, get happy and are able to have a life and move on to
   something better than social media.
 * They are dead.
