A dish fell over in my cabinet and the wireless phone flew off the top
of my portable AC. Otherwise nothing much else here. I have a crack
off the window frame in front of me that's been there for years but it
didn't get worse. It may have been from the 4.0 quake back in 2007
that was 1 mile away.
Funny thing is I woke up about one minute before it hit. When it hit
I just laid there in bed wondering how long the thing was going to
last. It did last about 20 seconds.
Napa got the worst of it as the quake spread out from American Canyon
which is on the other side of Vallejo up to Napa. Originally it was
thought to be the Franklin fault which has been dormant for 1.6
million years but due to the spread it is a different previously
unknown fault. Napa has a lot of old building not retrofitted for
quakes. It will be interesting to see if anything downtown here has
been damaged because there are a number of vacant downtown buildings
not retrofitted.
They're calling this the first major earthquake of the Internet Age.
In fact rather than futzing with my clock radio I just went to local
stations streaming feeds on my phone to get info. Here's a Dropcam
video from someone's house near the epicenter.
That's all a relief! We don't get them here at all really, not until
they start gas fracking next year LOL...

I notice they didn't immediately go and stand in the doorways like
you're supposed to! Poor public safety training.....
Actually doorways are NOT recommended. Did you hear that from a "proper
doctor"?
When the quake in 2007 hit I was watching TV in the living room and
dropped down to the floor. Dive under a table. If the roof had begun
sounding like it was coming down this morning I would have dropped to
the floor as it would have fallen on the bed but the space on the floor
by the bed would be safe.
In this modern age a lot folks lost their TVs that were hanging on the
walls. Mine is just sitting on it's stand and wasn't effected but then
a 55" LED weighing almost 100 lbs doesn't move much and the way they did
the stand it can't fall forward.

a little shake rattle and roll here is a wake up about 3:20 to an

How bad is that Bhairitu, cracked walls? Fissures in the pavement?
