back row right under the projection window. Damn right! My favorite place now. I used to see teenagers almost exclusively sitting there and thought they just did it so they could get up to no good without anyone seeing them or to be able to text and all that jazz during the movie. Then a couple years ago, I was with my daughter for the afternoon, had picked her up after her rehearsal in a young people's play at the time. I asked if she wanted to go see a movie to which she said yes. So using her apps she checked her phone to see what was playing and instead of anyof the ones I thought she would pick, she asked to see Now You See Me. I had not heard of it but in my typical daddy mode I gave her what she asked for so we went to see Now You See Me - one of the BEST films I have seen in years, and we were the only people in the movie. Sat at her request in the very middle of the top row, under the projection window. Best seats in the house!!!

We have some theaters that are "diner movie theaters" in the SF Bay Area. I saw a movie at one in Oakland where we were able to order wine and pizza. The menu was varied (didn't think it would be much fun to try to eat pasta during the movie). Problem with a lot of the "ornate" old theaters is they lacked stadium seating. I'm even wondering how the line of site from the balcony of the theater posted here works out. But many of these had almost flat floor so if anyone 6' 10" sat in front of you then you didn't get the see the movie. The theater about 1/2 a mile from me was remodeled about 10 years ago and was one of the first all digital theaters in the SF Bay Area (technology seems to follow me around). All seats are stadium. But since they are often small auditoriums I like to sit at the back row right under the projection window. That way I avoid some problems that stadium seating doesn't tend to solve: idiot behind you kicking your seat, talking during the movie and putting their stinky tennies on the back of the seat next to you. Michael, I don't know about the UK, but one can have a drink (alcoholic) in most movie theaters I've been to in the rest of Europe. Some of the theaters even have full bars that are so nice that people come to them to socialize and have a drink with friends even if they're not seeing a movie. The bar in the ornate, wonderful Tuschinski cinema in Amsterdam is like that: From: "Michael Jackson mjackso...@yahoo.com [FairfieldLife]" <FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com> To: "FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com" <FairfieldLife@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Monday, February 16, 2015 10:19 PM Subject: Re: [FairfieldLife] Fifty shades of Glasgow... Oh man, what an article! Now, is Scotland a part of Scorpion land proper, do you think? I mean when Marshy reviled England as the Scorpion land, he didn't specify that Scots were included in it did he? Of course, the woman involved could have been Scorpions up for a weekend excursion in Glasgow. Wonder how far this particular theatre is from the nearest flying hall? Didn't know you could get booze while watching a movie. Do they allow that in all of Scorpion land, or only in Scotland?
