Well, I think you are exaggerating. I originally merely proposed that
this over adulation on the Beatles could be typical movement
disinformation. Having just finished reading McCartney's biography--
the chapter entitled "Maharishi"--I think my initial impressions were
good. P. was aware of only one of Mahesh's indiscretions from what he
says. He does not appear to have any knowledge of any of the other
TMO scandals or the more spiritually incestual aspect. He does not
appear to be a regular meditator, but merely someone who uses it for
"centering". He does feel the TMSP seemed to be a scam. His bio
quotes him on asking M. specifically about levitation and M. admits
he does not practice it. McCartney did not want to learn the TMSP and
thought it was overpriced (price gouging). He was also very
suspicious of M. when he found out the "holy man" had an accountant.

Overall I think PM is a very optimistic, upbeat person and that
optimism shines through in all of his relations. He is very clear in
his bio to point out that M. was not enlightened, merely a meditation
teacher and that is how he relates to him and sees him. Also, on a
more positive note, he also tells his kids that they too should
receive mantras in case they ever feel the desire to meditate when
they are "alone on a hill."

But the really the person of interest, when sizing up the Beatles
acceptance of TM as a technology is GH. Clearly he found it lacking.

Now before you go off on another rant, this is not to say that these
people dislike M. intensely or anything like that. He's just a
meditation teacher it would seem and they hold no grudges for the
most part, another good thing.

No I feel they are merely taken out of the larger context as yet
another form of marketing but really they express even more the great
need of TMers and TB's to feel the "the Beatles have returned to the
fold".

It also appears they don't know the extent of M.'s misdeeds. If they
knew the extent of the debauch, I suspect these more neutral
positions might change to be more like JL's. But at the same time, PM
does seem to see things through rose colored glasses.

Also, to answer one of your other comments, my teacher has told me
how to approach other teachers, how to test them and how to know what
is legit. One of the quotes he used is actually on the FFL website:

"Believe nothing merely because you have been told it. Do not believe
what your teacher tells you merely out of respect for the teacher.
But whatsoever, after due examination and analysis, you find to be
kind, conducive to the good, the benefit, the welfare of all beings
-- that doctrine believe and cling to, and take it as your guide."
