Especially if you get the wrong mantra. Mantras have specific effects, some can calm and some can stimulate. If you're already sluggish (kapha) then a pitta or vata reducing mantra might not be good for you. You need a stimulating mantra. I think MMY thought that people who got a TM (pitta reducing) mantra would just move on to something else like they do in India. And I have mentioned before reading a book circa 1980 by a chiropractor who said that meditation might not be for everyone and some need to jog or walk instead.
