So what was wrong with the show?

They clearly decided to trickle this one out one episode at a time because they knew that anyone forced to sit through the first episode would be so pissed off at Netflix for producing such a piece of junk that they would sue for a refund if they had been forced to buy a whole season's worth. Two things amaze me about this -- 1) that this horrible show got made, and 2) that Bharitu's standards are so low that he actually thought it was "pretty good."

"Between" debuted last night no Netflix. Yes really, last night. It was
announced to debut the 21st but as of late afternoon all you could do
was put in your "wish list". But checking a little after 9 PM there it
was. Unlike other "Netflix originals" they will be launching a new
episode weekly instead of all at once. Part of this may be due to a
deal with a Canadian broadcaster who will be showing it over the air.
OTOH, NBC is supposedly launching all episodes of "Aquarius" at once VOD.

"Between" is an apocalyptic thriller about the community of "Pretty
Lake" where suddenly and mysterious people over 21 begin to die off.
Guess none of their comp sci students will ever live to have a job at
Google or Netflix. The series is by a producer of "24" and I thought
the first episode was quite good but then apocalyptic thrillers if not
too sophomoric are my "cuppa tea".
