*Irrational* means a lack of reason, no explanation, not a lack of evidence.
People seeking power, such as Democrats can't openly say that they want to
disarm society. Only their backers and supporters can, such as Anne! We have
the second amendment! Openly campaigning on depriving people of the second
amendment would surely lead to defeat. Yet Liberals will quickly tell you that
the second amendment doesn't mean what it says. That arms are *only* for a well
regulated militia, therefor *we the people* don't really have a right to have
guns. And then you have Democratic strongholds, New York, Baltimore, Chicago,
where owning a gun legally is next to impossible or severely restricted. The
Democratic method of eliminating something legal is to regulate it out of
existence if they just can't pass a law completely banning something.

Citing lack of evidence for something as evidence for it is irrational and
paranoid. That most people want tighter gun control is not evidence they want
to "confiscate all weapons at a moments notice." There's zero evidence for the
latter. And "incrementally over generations" doesn't help. The people presently
in a position to affect the gun situation in this country won't be in power
generations from now.
