Yes. It a false premise that having some initial criteria for a
teacher, like Swami Brahmananda Sarswati did, equates to or requires
that "pull" is absent, or that it is not the major factor.

Yes. It appears few gurus are perfect, probably due to the fact that
they are still living the effects of imperfect karma. To enter a
relationship with this in mind is healthy. Reviewing a criteria
highlights potential pitfalls that might be encountered down the road.
