Love it. And this: 'God's land.' You mean to tell me God cares more about this section of dirt than that section of dirt? The Middle Easterners' fixation on that particular piece of real estate strikes me as pagan Earth worship as much as any brand of monotheism. I often wish we could solve the whole Middle East mess by giving Israel a chunk of Utah and letting them exist as a country within the United States, much as the Indian tribes do. (I think of Utah because it seems similar to the Middle East, and there's something elegant about concentrating all of our religious governments in one place.)
