Well, actually, isn't that precisely what the Talmud is...basically,
volume after volume after volume of "legalese" of the contract
between man and God?

Shemp just as I explained to Judy, yes that's is exactly what the Talmud is, a promise from God, however my definition of legalese is probably far different than what yours may be. I'm referring to legalese as the technical terms used today in the practice of modern civil law. Open a contract for a new house today and compare it to the contract between Abraham and God linguistically.
