Well, it is not true that money and celebrity have been all-
important in the movement, as is obvious from the way Bevan dished
David Kaplan, which resulted in both brothers going ballistic and
tossing Purusha and MD out of their home.

This doesn't make any sense -- obviously a maker of softcore porn
who was not in TM management would not be thrown out of anything.
And the fact that a film maker like Lynch is now in TM management
only proves the point I was making that attitudes in Bevan land are
changing.

There were always exceptions to the hair rules, especially for
people in the entertainment industry, and in any event, Doug Henning
was not really part of TM administration, not in the same way that
David Lynch is (he's on the board of directors of MUM). One hair
rule being that people over 35(?) who had previously worn beards
were OK to continue doing so, which is why an non-rich MIU atty
(director of grants admin) had a beard in the 70s.
