It seems to me the premise is that involvement with other techniques and with saints is likely to affect a person's practice of TM and the TM- Sidhis in subtle ways, although the person might not realize it. Whether that's *true* or not, I don't know; and it certainly appears that those who make the decisions in individual cases tend to err way too far on the side of caution.
