For now, the situation is extremely delicate. I think that what is needed yet not occurring is for the US to engage in direct dialogue with those in the middle east. Instead what we are doing is forcing our objectives on them, which is not working. Demonizing our enemies clearly no longer works, nor does pitying them. Hey, I know!
