I heard an interesting analysis of the Foley scandal on the radio 
tonight.  Because the age of consent is 16 where the instant messaging 
took place, Foley would have been better off having sex with the page 
than engaging in sexual banter with the 17-year-old.

Of course, this argument doesn't address the important issue of the 
appropriateness of what he did, but it does tell us something about 
internet laws and how communicating with a minor is, in some 
circumstances, worse off from a legal point of view than performing 
the actual act talked about.
