It couldn't possibly be that although I am an asshole,
I am a generally likable asshole with a demonstrated
sense of humor and the knowledge that he *is* an 
asshole, whereas Judy is...uh...Judy?  :-)

I'm suggesting that the phenomenon you suggest, as 
unfair as it may appear, may have as much to do with 
personality as it does with point of view.
