One definition read: * infinite loop. See loop, infinite.  When you went there, that definition read: * loop, infinite. See infinite loop. Also: * recursion. See recursion. When the company found out what I'd put in their manual, I explained to them that my definitions, though silly, explained the terms far better than a real one would have. They agreed, and let them stand in future revs of the manual. I find more interesting the use of this term, infinite recursion, in regards to the properties of fractal geometry. If you've ever experimented with "zooming into" a fractal displayed on a computer screen--in both directions actually--they are naturally, infinitely, recursive, repeating geometries. Albeit "chaotic". This same mathematical idea is also used in certain types of filtering used in high-level imaging which uses iterative filtering is applied to 3 dimensional matrices. You also see this same style of functioning in Mr. Sid style images used in satellite imaging, it is also useful in compression technologies like DjVu amd JPEG2000.
