No, as he indicates in my quote--TM by comparison is incomplete in many of the prerequisites--so, yes, definitely!

Because of that, I tend to doubt that his students in the Shamatha Project(anyone else note 

the need for a SINGLE teacher to impart a  consistently trained groupo of meditators for this 

upcoming study, BTW?) will show very TM-like results, regardless of any practical benefits 

documented...


The continuous tradition of awakening it comes from is more than enough. Research is somewhat interesting, but only as an aside.
