BTW, I did a little checking up on Barry. In fact,
there is only *one* "whole page" such as Barry describes,
and even that one has a couple of posts from somebody
else.

And the posts on that page were all made between 8:52
and 9:49 p.m. on Wednesday, an example of the phenomenon
I mentioned in an earlier post in which several people
who are all intensely interested in a particular topic
happen to be reading and posting to the forum at the
same time, so that the exchanges are more like a real-
time conversation, generating a high number of posts
from those people in a short span of time (in this case,
less than an hour).

It's fine to be all laid-back and "cool," not having
a strong enough interest in anything to get intensely
involved in a discussion, not caring to test and
refine your views by bouncing off others. But to
criticize other people for engaging in a lively
discussion is peculiar, to say the least. It appears
to be a matter of personal antipathy rather than
genuine concern for the supposed welfare of the group.
