TM is not the best technique in the world.  Some systems, that were not much known when TM came out, such as the Vajrayana use ritual and simple mental cues to pull one to samadhi and then do a performance after for stabilization. Which leads to clearer perception of what is. Clarity, emptiness, effulgence. That's it! Nothing else. Just transcending alone is a waste of time inf the mind has no retention or ability to use transcendence, or if the lifestyle prohibits growth of wisdom.  Growth of wisdom is different from satuirating the mind with transcendence. Though the former can grow from the latter it's not likely without some help, help from ancient tantric systems.  They are where these techniques come from, tantra or technique. Not belief, not meditation alone but an integrated system to saturate the mind with bliss and then lift it away from samsara. Not just leave it soaked in bliss in samsara. That's TM. Lot's of blissfully lost people. No, it's not the best technique.
