I question how deep Aronofsky is into spiritual matters: as deep as folks here or more likely a weekend dabbler or spectator. Given it is Warner Brother's film it may be awhile for the DVD. You might find the trivia section on IMDB very interesting. It was originally going to star Brad Pitt and Kate Blanchet but Pitt and Aronofsky had creative differences. The budget was $75 mil and WB had already sunk $20 mil by the time the first production fell apart. A second budget was submitted and the film done for $35 mil.
I actually found "What the Bleep" to be more interesting.
