I didn't live in Fairfield and when working for the Movement it was in
the worker-bee ranks, pretty much doing the hard labor, and most of us
were there to round and gain credit for courses. There was a clear
demarcation between the worker-bees and the Governors so as the lower
ranks we really didn't buy into all the philosophical bonding stuff. I
was mostly focused on what Maharishi had to say anyway, via tapes and
books, and he didn't push the elitist line with the worker bees. When
I left Livingston Manor I do remember one of the Guvs running the
place tried to talk me out of it, along the lines of the 'impure
world' argument, but my mind was made up anyway and I remember feeling
a little embarassed for him.
