Depends on how much they paid in, and that's all
they get from the gummint, except for Medicare.
Also survivors' benefits for spouse and kids when
they croak.

It ain't much, not enough to live on except in
*really* straitened circumstances, even if you've
been working for 50 years at an average-Joe salary.
You need some other source of income--pension,
investments, savings--to be comfortable.
