Right, there are remedial actions and avoidance actions, but there is 
also tremendous value in simply seeing via Jyotish that the bad 
things that happen to one happen because they are bad karma returning 
to sender (obviously good things also happen to us as a result of 
some good karma returning, but nobody says "Why me" when that 
happens).

Everybody is totally responsible for what they are and for what 
happens to them, including diseases, and an accurate Jyotish chart 
and interpretation can predict what influences, good and bad, will be 
returning from the cosmos during this lifetime. Taking responsibility 
for one's karma frees one from the pissing and moaning that you hear 
all the time from ignorant people about how unfair life is, and 
hopefully leads one to the path of freedom from bondage through TM.
